Surgery Student Interest Group

Here are just some of the benefits of becoming a member:

• We are the only student interest group supported by the USC Department of Surgery.

• Our “Day in the OR” program gives you the chance to shadow a surgeon and scrub into the OR.

• Through our surgical skills workshops, you can practice laparoscopy, suturing, scrubbing, and more.

• We help connect you with an individual mentor in the surgical field.

• Our lunch talks featuring surgeon speakers and Residents Panel offer an inside perspective practicing surgery.

• You can attend Surgical Grand Rounds to hear about recent advances in surgery and network with surgical faculty.

• MedSTAR holds an abstract competition where five students are chosen to present their research at Grand Rounds.
