Keck School of Medicine of USC
Family Medicine Interest Group
Keck's Family Medicine Interest Group, aka FMIG, is a student-run group at USC. We meet about once a month during the lunch hour. Speakers are coordinated by first and second year students and topics range from the specialty of family medicine, fellowship opportunities in family medicine to hands-on clinical workshops and financial resources. We serve as a resource and advocacy group for students who are interested in exploring a primary care career in family medicine. We also sponsor an open meeting early in the fall of 4th year for medical students needing assistance applying to residency and a spring gathering for the 1st and 2nd year students to meet their colleagues matching into family medicine. Feel free to contact any of the FMIG leaders. All students are welcome to the meetings.
Family Medicine Preceptors are available through the California Academy of Family Physicians link and/or by contacting the faculty advisor.
